The Indonesian Legal Aid and Human Rights Association (PBHI) is a member-based, individual, non-profit association dedicated to the promotion and defense of human rights, regardless of ethnicity, language, religion, color, gender and sexual orientation , social status and class, career and profession as well as political and ideological orientation. PBHI was founded in November 1996 in Jakarta through a Congress attended by 54 founding members from various quarters as a gathering place for everyone concerned about human rights for all .
