Sevalanka Foundation is a leading Sri Lankan Non-Governmental Organization that enhances the capacity of disadvantaged rural communities to identify and address their own development needs. Sevalanka Foundation has a 'community development' approach to poverty reduction. They focus on bringing individuals together to build strong civil society organisations that are capable of catalysing village, or even regional, level change. Their main programme areas cover Organisational Development, Disaster Management, and Livelihood Services. While they concentrate on these core areas they also recognise there are a number of key cross-cutting issues that must be considered in their work. Mission To enhance the capacity of rural communities to democratically identify and address their own development needs and provide services that contribute to the economically viable, socially just, and ecologically sustainable development of Sri Lanka.
